Jimmy 'Whirlwind' White is Britain's most popular snooker player, if not exactly the most successful. How much of this popularity is down to the series of excellent snooker simulations that have borne his name is unknown, but they can't have done his reputation any harm, nor that of the series' creator and all-round gaming legend, Archer Maclean. The latest Jimmy, Cueball World, takes the award-winning green baize sim, and drops it in a variety of exotic locations, ranging from desert islands in the Maldives to the middle of Stonehenge!
No matter where you play it, there's no denying that Cueball World does an excellent job of simulating snooker, which is a tricky task at the best of times. Superb physics, a well designed control system, and excellent camera control conspire to make the business of potting balls as painless as possible. If only it were this easy in reality...
